Entry 19: Effects of Preventive Measures on Pupils

I think the school's preventive measures for H1N1 such as temperature-taking, no assembly in the hall, cancellation of remedial lessons, CCA and other activities is very safe for other students because we don't mix with other students.Not going to the library has affected me. This is because I need to borrow Chinese books from the school library or else my Chinese teacher would scold me...
The cancellation of these activities has not really affect me in my studies.I think the school is less interesting now because there is no event to participate in now.My relationship with my friends and teachers aren't affected because we can contact each other my using the phone.As I have extra time now, I use the time to revise for my CA2. No. My activities outside school are not infected.

Entry 21: Cyberwelless - Handling Inappropriate content

I did not see anything online that made me afraid, uncomfortable or feel excited and yet guilty because I sensed that it was wrong.If the content on the Internet is wierd and inappropriate, I would immediately close the website.

Entry 20: Cyberwelless - Cyber Addiction

My favourite computer game is Fiesta, Luna , Talesrunner and Maplestory. The past few weeks , I have been playing my favourite computer games half an our a day. Only on weekends, I spent 1-3 hours of computer games.I started playing computer games since the age of 6. It affected my daily routine because I don't have to do my homework and I will always rush through my homework because there is no time to do it. I can stop playing computer onece a day and instead use the computer only twice a week and stop downloading new games in the computer to prevent Cyber Addiction.I advice my friend to play computer games rarely or just play it for 15minutes one time twice a day.

Task 2(Science)

Daddy Robin needs to buy a transparent or transculent milk bottle so that Mummy Di does not need to open the cap of the milk bottle each time she wants to find out wether Baby Isaac has finished his milk , instead Mummy Di can see through the milk bottle as to find out wether Baby Isaac has finsihed his milk.

Self-descipline

John was a 16 year old boy who has a habit of smoking.


One day, John was halfway doin his work in school and decided to go to the toilet and smoke. John raised his hands and ask the teacher for permission to go to the toilet. He started to smoke in the toilet. After he smoked , he threw the cigarette on the floor nearby the the toilet paper. As it was a windy day, the gust of wind blew the tissue paper on to the cigarette that was still on fire. The toilet was on fire.

''Riiiing!'' the fire alarm rang continously. Everyone in the school went in to school's field.

Fortunately , no one in the school had died . But some of the students were injured. Some of the students had burnt shoes and swallon lips becuase they had banged against the table or chairs.

From that day onwards, John kicked the habit of smoking and he learnt to be more self-descipline.

Entry 18: Reflective Time for Science (Light Energy)

My Mother uses light to pack , My Father uses light to do his work on the computer , My sister and I use light to read and do our homework. My grandmother and my maid uses light to cook for us to eat.

Light helps me and my family see things , pack things , use the computer , read , do our work and cook.

If there is no light , Life would be in total darkness.

Entry 17: Classroom Cleanliness

I don't think our classroom is clean because it has a lot of dirt and litter.I think it is important to keep the classroom clean because if our classroom is cleaner, we will have a better learning environment. I will sweep up the dirt that I see on the floor daily and pick up litter that i see and throw it into the rubbish bin. I participated in arranging the tables neatly. From this activity, I learnt to not litter and to clean the classroom daily. I have learnt to be more self-discipline from this activity.

Entry 16: Influenza A H1N1

H1N1 is swine flu. This disease can be spread just by going near to the person. Most of the countries people have H1N1. They can try to be responsible, they can cancel their trip to other countries as the disease can spread very quickly. I think taking of temperature is effective in preventing Influenza A H1N1 because when you have H1N1 you will have a fever and the thermometer can check weather do you have fever or not.If people have H1N1 they can stay at home and rest instead of going to work or going to school. I am going to wash my hands thoroughly before I eat, and after I eat.

Entry 15: SA 1 Review

I think the SA1 papers have test me fairly.The maths SA1 paper is an unfair test.I think the paper have been an unfair test because some of the question in the test paper are not in my maths file.I don't think i did well for this semester. I can pay more attention in class and do my homework properly. I think the remedial or enrichment classes in school were useful. It helps me revise my work again.I think home tuition is useful to improve my results because it teaches me base on the topic that will be tested.I would work hard after SA1.

Respect

One day John came home from school. His mother asked him to hand over the test that he had recently. John took the test paper out from his school bag and hand it over to his mother rudely. His mother was fustrated and her face was very red. She questioned him:" Why did you failed your test?!" John said rudely"I failed my test because you didn't teach me anything!" His mother was very angry she said" How can you say such a thing I sent you for so many tution centres yet you still shout back at me!!!" His mother caned him harshly for talking back when she was scolding him. He ran to his room and shut the door. He beads of tears drop down his cheek as he looked at the scars that was on his legs and hands. After he stopped crying and his mother has calmed down he went out of his room to apologise to his mother for being so rude and being so disrespectful. He said that he would turn over a new leaf. His mother hesitated awhile. She forgived him.
From that day onwards John was helpful,caring,thoughtful,polite and very respectful. He scored 90 marks and above for every subject. His mother was very happy. They even went for a holiday trip each year!!!

Entry 14: Kindness

Kindness means helping and caring for each others.It is very important to be kind because this is how you can make friends and kindness make you feel good.People can show their kindness by helping and caring for each other.I helped my mother to do the house chores on Mother's Day. I was happy,overjoyed and I feel good.I would want to help my friends with their work if they don't know how to do it.

Entry 13: International Friendship Day

We celebrate International Friendship Day because we want to gain more friends from other races.I know how International Friendship Day come about.International Friendship Day celebrations take place on the first Sunday of August every year.Its aims include the acceleration of social progress cultural development among its members, the protection of the peace of the region. ASEAN stands for Association of Southeast Asia.I like the activities organised by the school on International Friendship Day because the activities are fun and interesting.Yes.He is from my same class and we have the same CCA.The school should paste posters that says ''Help and care for the ASEAN and try to be their friend.

Entry 12: Improving the School

I like the computer lab very much because it is very clean and neat. I think the toilets can be improved by placing an air freshener in the toilet. The canteen should be improved because there are plenty of litter in the canteen.I think the classroom should be improved because it has a lot of dirt on the floor and the window.Pupils can return the bowl to the right stall in the canteen and pupils can help the cleaners by cleaning up the classroom.

My CCA mates leave their belongings unattended.My tennis friends leave their belongings behind the tennis court. They leave their bags against the fence. My Science Club friends don't leave their belonging unattended. They put it on the floor next to them. My Science High Achiever place their belongings on the chair or on the floor beside,behind or in front of them.We can help each other by telling them that you cannot put their belongings unattendetly.Or if their awaywe can help take care of their belongings then when they come back,we can tell them that it is not right to leave your belongings unattendetly.

Entry 9: Activities for Becoming Better Readers

Dear Mrs. Tan,
The following activities enable us to become better readers:
1.Select an interesting book base on your interest for example: adventurous,spooky,pirate,funny,fantasy,aliens and mystery.
2.Put on a show that encourage students to read different types of books.
3.By giving students a fun worksheet which is base on reaading.
4.Put a disc in a storybook that teaches students how to read.
5.Insert pictures for students to read.
6.Sometimes they can put a few pages of colours for students to enjoy reading.
7.Put up a show that is related to the book.
8.Insert 3D pictures in the book.
9.Put a new CCA about reading.
10.Ask sudents to find a certain word in each of the books. If they can find a certain amount of books,they can reward them.

Entry 8: Review of T1 Target-Setting Exercise

The purpose of setting targets for the various subject is to help us achieve our targets.I think it is useful because we know what we are aiming for and if you don't set your target you do not know what you are aiming for. Sometimes you set your targets at the last minute like just before the exams , you can't think properly and you would aim for low marks because you got no time to think. I look at my previous test results and set my target higher then the previous test results because I want to be smarter.I have a plan to set my target. I will set a target then achieve it and have more marks than my target. My parents teaches me and buy more assessment papers for me to revise. I will work harder and pay more attention in class.I think the teacher should spend more time with us revising our weakness and teaching us again and again if we do not understand.

Entry 7: Festivals in Singapore

I celebrate Christmas. I celebrate this festival because I am a Christian. Christians or Catholics celebrate Christmas because it is Jesus birthday. We eat turkeys with cranberry sauce, log cakes , Roast Beef , Christmas Puddings and Christmas Cookies.We also put up Christmas Trees with a lot of decorations on it. And the tip of the Christmas tree , we put either an angel or a star. I celebrate this festival because I want to be a Christian and believe in Jesus.I celebrate this festival by decorating the Christmas tree and eat Christian's food.I know what are the festivals celebrated by the other races. For example , for Chinese , they celebrate Chinese New Year. For Malays, they celebrate Selamat Hari Raya.And for Indians they celebrate Deepavali. Sometimes Malays fast. Yes. When different races celebrate their celebrations , they will get together more often and therefore , they will make friends.I think that different races should tell the other race what they celebrate and how they celebrate them.

Entry 6: March Term Break

I think the school gets Pupils to read books every morning because they want to help the pupils write better compositions and make a good habit of reading. I like it because I want to have the habit of reading , write better compositions and even learn new words. I like reading because I have the book I like and it is good for me. I like to read books that have a little pictures in them to help me imagine the stories and not too hard and not too easy.I think reading will help me with my school work because books have good vocabulary .The school can encourage pupils to read by introducing more interesting books to them or put more story books in the school library.The title of the book I really like to read is called , "Horrid Henry Robs The Bank." The Author of this book is called , "Francesca Simon."I like to read Francesca Simon's books because it teaches me a lot of things for example , how to write a good composition , learn new words and make me have more interest in reading. The Stories are also very interesting and good.

Entry 5: Activities Outside School

ScThe activities I am involved in is Tennis , Science Club , Tuition and High Achiever for Science. I play Tennis every Wednesday , I go for Science Club every Friday , I have tuition every Monday,Thursday and Saturday. I have High Achievers for Science every Tuesday.I spend one whole week on these activities. I spend two hours playing Tennis , one and a half hour in Science Club , and I spend seven hours in total for Tuition , I spend an hour in High Achiever for ience.
I am involved in these activities because I like them. I like Tennis because it is one of my favourite sports and it is very fun to play. I am involved in Science Club because i like Science. I like to do experiments the most. I am involved in tuition because my parents wants me to achieve good results for my tests and my exams and it is for my own good. I am involved in High Achiever for Science is because I achieved good marks for my SA2 and Sa1 exams. I think these activities are necessary for me. Tennis have help me like sports more. Science Club helped me know how to do some experiments more and learn to like science better. Tuition helped me understand my Maths , Science , English and Chinese. High Achiever for Science helped me understand more about Science and my High Achiever teacher(Madam Kaur) teach us one step or two steps further. I think these activities don't affect my studies. i don't feel stress with all these activities because these activities give me lesser homework than usual now. I think pupils should be involved in these activities because they should not stay at home doing nothing but liying down sleeping. They should play sports or have Tuitions. Tuitions will help them study better and do not struggle when you have difficulties in learning.

Entry 4: Journey Earth Hour 2009

We can fight climate change by switching off electrical appliances when not use , do not waste water or using electronic appliances for too long. Do not litter.You should recycle it whenever possible. If we litter or throw a lot of rubbish in the rubbish bin , the rubbish truck will come and collect the rubbish and throw it in the junkyard. Do not waste paper as they come from trees that provides oxygen for us.

To protect our family we must wash our hands before we eat, after the toilet and lock our doors at all time. Mabye we should put security alarms too.To protect our friends we should make sure they do not fall or hurt themselves. To protect singapore, we should not let terroist enter our contry or if you see any suspicious looking people, immidetly go to a safe place and call the police. Do not throw litter anywhere or eles we might get ill.

My Visit to Thye Hua Kuan Hospital

If i went ot the Thye Hua Kuan Hospital, i think that i could see some residents and i think that i would feel very happy and sad at the same time. I am happy because I may see residents feeling happy. So i can feel the joy. I think that i would feel sad because I heard some of my friends that they saw some residents crying because they were very happy to see us. I think that inisde the goody bag there is oranges, jellies and a few pakets of biscuits to give the residents. I am looking foward to go to the hospital.
